The U-Turn Round is our unique, 4th generation, wind-up dynamo powered digital sound store. Weather and vandal resistant, the U-Turn Round is designed for external use and is updatable via an included USB Programming Dongle.
Easy to Operate
Select, Turn, Listen… Visitors can select a message to listen to through the selector dial, which offers up to eight message options. Just by turning the handle is enough to play any message in full, with no need for continuous winding once playback begins. Just relax, listen and enjoy.
Can be Installed Virtually Anywhere
The U-Turn Round is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Designed to be fitted onto a metal pole/timber post, the U-Turn Round’s independence from mains power means it can be installed virtually anywhere, including wildlife sites, canal towpaths, nature trails, play areas, zoological gardens and Sites of Special Scientific Interest. We also offer an Oversized Through Panel for the U-Turn Round, for installations that involve fitting onto a panel.

Easily Programmable
Our included USB Programmer is perfect for customers that wish to change their own content periodically, perhaps seasonally for example. For instructions on how to update the audio content on your device please see the manual.
NOTE: Windows OS is required to program your U-Turn Round using a PC or Laptop (XP – 10). MacOS is not supported due to hidden files generated by the OS.
Version 4.0
Version 4.0 boasts improved functionality and easier updating of content through the new USB programmer. Now supporting mp3 files updated via USB Stick, the ability to enable or disable end of message beeps, single track usage statistics, overall play statistics and 10 volume levels, we’re confident the U-Turn is now even better than before!
Plinth Mount Option
This option is for fixed directly onto the ground, the sturdy powder coated steel plinth is predrilled with 4 holes for securely bolting down to a flat surface.
In-Ground Metal Mount Option
This option allows installation directly into the ground. The extra long plinth has three holes at the bottom to ensure secure fixing into postcrete.
Additional Plinth Decal
Alongside the two Plinth options is the additional choice of a decal, this full colour di-bond graphic can be used to share any information you wish including instructions, track lists and logos.
In-Ground Timber Post Option
Mount the U-Turn Round with an In-Ground Timber Post – constructed from tanalised red wood timber, built to last in almost any environment. Note: As this is a natural product the drying process may cause cracks to appear after installation. This is nothing to worry about and the timber will remain structurally sound.
Timber Post Bracket Only Option
Clients may wish to have their own posts fabricated locally. Therefore we supply the Bracket on its own as used on the In-Ground Wooden Post – you’ll simply need to have your own wooden post fabricated and then inserted and secured to the sleeve via 8 screws.
Seperate Wall Bracket required for Wall Mounting
If you would like to simply mount the U-Turn to a vertical surface, you will need an additional wall bracket which is sold separately. You can purchase the Wall Bracket here.
